It's very strange watching the new Jane Eyre on BBC1, because they've filmed almost all of it in my neck of the woods. I can't count the number of times I've hiked down Dovedale, in the scene where Jane first meets Rochester. Mrs Reed's house is Sudbury, which is literally just down the road. I blame laura_isaac. She uploaded a bootleg of the Broadway musical for me - which I originally introduced her to - and now I can't stop listening to it. Oh my God. I'm stunned. As a fangirl, I feel completely ashamed of myself.

I've just had it pointed out to me by utopian_sky that Rupert Penry-Jones plays St John Rivers in the 1997 Hinds/Morton version of Jane Eyre. Which may not seem particularly shocking to most of you.
